    OMEGA PACIFIC: Dash Quickdraw Pack

    $104.95

The key to a quickdraw is the carabiner. Dash quickdraws use a lightweight, full strength wire gate that's burly enough to withstand years of serious use, yet light enough to never hold you back. With nearly a full inch of gate clearance, clipping is a snap and, at 34gm, the Dash is lean. We build it from full-sized, high-strength 3/8" aircraft grade aluminum, so it's built to take the punishment that might cripple other anorexic 'biners. Whether it's the unpredictable alpine routes in the world's remotest places or a roadside crag close to home, the Dash is the right biner for the job! No longer considered appropriate solely for sport climbs or “clip-ups,” quickdraws have become standard equipment on almost every climber’s rack. Crack climbers, trad climbers and ice climbers alike all agree that they’re time-savers and a vital piece of the climbing system. Used to reduce rope drag and to prevent accidental dislodging of protection on the lead, quickdraws are specialized pieces of equipment that come in a variety of styles, lengths and with varying types of carabiners dedicated to either end. We orient our carabiners on all our standard quickdraws with the gates facing opposite each other. We feel that this is the safestmethod to minimize the possibility of simultaneously loading both carabiners in a gate-open position while leading routes which may wander above and to the left or right of your last placement. Under certain circumstances, it is possible for both gates to open during a fall as the ‘draw is scraped along the rock while it orients iteself below the point of protection. By opposing the carabiners on a draw, we reduce the possibility of simultaneous gate-opening in this manner. Learn More

Includes Free Locking Biner No longer considered appropriate solely for sport climbs or “clip-ups,” quickdraws have become standard equipment on almost every climber’s rack. 7. Oval Straitgate
    Oval Straitgate

    OMEGA PACIFIC: Oval Straitgate

    $6.50

Oval carabiners are a real technological challenge. Because of its shape, the load is shared equally between the spine and gate sides of the carabiner, which typically results in lower strength ratings. However, with our exclusive ISO Cold Forging process, we are able to compensate by shifting material and putting aluminum where it needs to be to reinforce the frame. Compare for yourself and you’ll see that we have one of the strongest oval carabiners on the market. At 22kN, it’s 4kN higher than other ovals, which means that our oval is an oval you can rely on for everyday, all-around use. Learn More
  8. Ange S - Petzl climbing Carabiners - Orange
Ange S - Petzl climbing Carabiners - Orange

    Petzl: Ange

    $12.95

Ultra-light, compact carabiner with MonoFil Keylock system The new generation ANGE carabiner represents the middle ground between the traditional gate carabiner and the classic wire gate carabiner. It combines the fluidity of the spring gate with the lightness of the wire gate system. Petzl's MonoFil Keylock technology and the H-profile make the ANGE carabiner weigh an ultra-light 28 grams and provide an optimal weight/strength ratio. So it is particularly suitable for users looking to reduce their weight to a minimum. The shape of the nose is designed to optimize clipping and unclipping. The ANGE carabiner is ultra-light and compact: it is ideal for mountaineering and multi-pitch climbing where weight reduction is key Petzl's MonoFil Keylock ensures smoother opening and closing of the carabiner and a much longer lifetime compared to traditional wire gate carabiners. The wire gate is protected from lateral rubbing (against rock, etc). The unique H-profile allows an optimal size and strength-to-weight ratio The indent on the bottom of the ANGE S and ANGE L carabiners helps keep the STRING in place so that the sling is properly positioned on the carabiner. The surfaces that come in contact with the rope and with the anchor are wider, favoring passage of the rope and reducing carabiner wear The nose of the carabiner has a hole that allows ice, snow or dirt to be cleared out The deflector works with the shape of the carabiner to allow proper positioning of the carabiner on its major axis Learn More
